Spend time at job sites to complete site inspections and conduct routine inspections of work areas, including conducting and reviewing completed Safety Observations, Hazard Assessments, and Risk Assessments
Conduct incident investigations as required
Act as the point of contact for HSE related issues with our clients
Hold safety meetings, attend site toolbox talks and prepare safety notices, toolbox talk topics, etc. and distribute appropriately within the organization.
Prepare OHS Manuals and necessary OHS material for job start up
Track and report on OHS statistics and activities, including filing/scanning, entering data into existing reports and producing new ad-hoc reports
Lead safety training program, including facilitating internal training, coordinating external training, tracking training and ensuring required training is valid and up to date for employees
Prepare and finalize documentation pertaining to HSE Audits
Promote Atlantica’s strong safety culture and HSE program by being a safety champion through every part of the organization, including at job sites, in fabrication shops, and in the office.

Ability to travel throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to various worksites – must have a valid driver’s license and be able to provide driver’s abstract
37.5 hours per week
Five or more years of construction safety experience in an industrial, commercial, or institutional environment.
Diploma/Degree in Health and Safety Management or a combination of relevant education and experience
Experience and comfort with using Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and HSE reporting software
NCSO designation is also considered an asset
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; including comfort with presentations and facilitating training programs.
Knowledge and use of all necessary Government Acts, Legislation and Requirements
Investigation training would be considered an asset
