The Field Safety Specialist I works under the Director of Safety and Health as an entry‑level safety leader. The role provides technical safety expertise, conducts observations and assessments, and advises lines of business on safe work practices. Over time, the specialist is expected to guide 10‑35 field employees daily and influence the overall safety culture.
Key duties include interpreting regulations, collaborating with operations to implement safety‑supporting work strategies, and developing corrective action plans to eliminate hazards. The specialist also leads incident investigations, delivers training, and partners with other safety professionals to foster a sustainable safety environment.
Candidates must possess strong OSHA recordkeeping skills, solid organizational abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. A bachelor's degree in health and safety or a related field, 3‑5 years of transmission line construction experience, and certifications such as OSHA instructor, CUSP, or CSP are preferred. A valid driver’s license and the ability to work in a non‑traditional office setting are required.
