Description

The Maintenance Technician ensures residents have a safe, comfortable, and attractive place to live by keeping all electrical and mechanical equipment and appliances functional and promptly repairing structures. Consistent attendance is essential to maintain workflow and effective team communication.

Work hours align with the community’s operating hours, and the technician may be required to respond to after‑hours emergency calls on a rotating schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Perform plumbing repairs in response to resident service calls.
• Lay and repair tile as part of resident maintenance requests.
• Install and repair drywall during service calls.
• Repair electrical switches for residents.
• Assist with HVAC and refrigeration repairs.
• Cut keys for resident access.
• Perform trash pickup duties.
• Provide lawn care services.
• Perform physical activities including walking, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, stretching, climbing stairs or ladders, and standing for periods of time.
• Hours coincide with community operation; may require after‑hours emergency calls and a rotating schedule for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Shampoo carpets.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Prior experience demonstrating general mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Valid driver’s license (if operating a vehicle).
• EPA Certificate for Freon Recovery and HVAC Certificate.
• Current Fair Housing Certification.
• Advanced training from a mechanical or supervising trade or technical school.
• Prior experience as a Service Manager for a multi‑unit property.
• Exposure to inclement weather, noise, dust, heat, mechanical equipment, and potentially dangerous products and chemicals.
• Heavy lifting as required.
