Description

The Groundman position offers an entry‑level pathway into the construction and maintenance of the nation’s power grid. Groundmen assist their crew in building, repairing, and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems, ensuring safe and reliable service.

Requirements

The role requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and working in all weather conditions. Workers are regularly exposed to fumes, noise, vibration, and high‑voltage equipment, and must meet visual and hearing standards.

Applicants must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within 60 days, communicate effectively in reading and writing, and be prepared for long‑distance travel on short notice. Flexibility for overtime, weekend, and holiday work is required, as is the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
