This Electrical Engineering Intern position is slated to begin in the summer of 2026 and will be placed on a project team within Sargent & Lundy's Grid business unit. Interns will support engineering teams on projects that involve designing new or modified transmission, substation, distribution, renewable energy, and battery energy storage systems.
Working under senior engineers, the internship provides hands‑on experience applying academic knowledge to real‑world tasks such as preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and designs. Interns will also handle project reporting duties, including tracking activities, evaluating progress, and managing related data, as well as participating in power design work and preparing procurement specifications for major electrical equipment and installation services.
Candidates must be on track to graduate with a Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering between Fall 2026 and Spring 2028, possess strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Preferred qualifications include a 3.0+ GPA, leadership experience, prior internship or co‑op exposure, and coursework focused on electrical power.
