We have two exciting opportunities for Sewer Adoption, Diversion & Requisition Technician’s to join the Developer Services team in the Customer Experience function at Yorkshire Water. You will play a key role in providing technical guidance and support to a range of customers and developers on sewer adoptions and diversions.
With a commercial mindset you will manage the financial aspect of the application and ensure all data is submitted accurately on company systems to ensure regulatory compliance.
You will provide developer customers with a high level of technical advice, guidance and support in relation to the adoption, diversion and requisition of new and existing sewerage assets proposed through the new development process. Whilst maintaining the integrity of Yorkshire Water assets and being fully compliant with appropriate guidelines and regulations (Code for Adoption / Sewers for Adoption / Engineering Specifications).
To respond to these customer requests, you will complete detailed technical assessments on network design proposals. You will ensure any proposals are compliant with the latest design standards, health and safety, policy, legal and regulatory aspects required in the role.
You will provide developer customers with a pre planning sewerage technical response to their enquiry to develop land and also provide customers with technical response and information in relation to their sewer closure application. You will also provide customers with a technical response and budget estimates in response to the NRSWA (New Road and Street Works Act) consultation.
o the principles of connecting to the public sewer network, designing a new sewer network, sewer diversion, sewer requisition, sewer closure and works in the highway along with Planning legislation requirementso the design, operation and maintenance of gravity and pumped sewerage networks (foul and surface water)o the design and operation of sewerage pump stations and network storage assetso sewerage engineering, construction methods and sewer hydraulicso sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and the end to end treatment traino the latest legislation (Water Industry Act, The Big Transfer, Planning) and guidance (Code for Adoption, CIRIA The SuDS Manual)o Water UK, DMex and our regulatory environment
Diploma in Civil Engineering / Sewerage Network Design and Operation would be advantageous for the role, although training will be provided in role.• Customer focussed approach to building and maintaining relationships• Strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications• Full UK Driving Licence with less than 6 points
If successful for the role, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks that will include a Basic Disclosure Check, carried out through a Third-Party Company, prior to commencing employment. Depending on the role, you may also be required to go through the security vetting process for either a Counter Terrorist Check or Security Check clearance.

We offer a salary from £32,074 - £40,093 per annum depending on experience

Work type: We have two temporary positions for 12 x months working full time, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.
