Provide constant feedback to Foremen regarding: Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale.
Promote a safe, clean work environment while building a team among all trades.
Responsible for sourcing and distributing information and direction to Foremen.
Review and recommend on subordinate pay rates.
Oversees adherence to cost budgets, both vessel specific and overhead for department.
Maintain succession plan within department, identify key personnel, and implement training programs.
Oversees the implementation of all production schedules, monitoring and maintenance of schedules in conjunction with Foremen and Supervisors.
Oversees the monitoring of resource levels and the distribution of these resources.
Oversees the maintaining of safe working practices and good housekeeping in all areas and ensuring Austal’s Safety Policies and regulations are followed.
Leads by example in identifying and implementing Lean Improvements and Root Cause analyses and insuring Foreman and Supervisors are actively involved.
Promote and advocate all company policies, procedures, and regulations, including but not limited to insuring timesheets are processed on time and time is allocated accurately.
Accurately track all cost components to reference for future projects and identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
Oversees the correct construction procedures are adhered to in compliance with Austal Quality Assurance Standards
Accountable for ensuring that all Foremen under their control are complying with the Leadership Creed.

Must be able to obtain and hold a Secret Security Clearance.
Candidates must meet the following employment eligibility guidelines to be considered for employment with Austal USA:
Minimum of 10 years experience in shipbuilding or closely related production
5 years previous Management experience
No felony convictions
Willing to submit to a drug screen
18 years of age or older at time of application
Able to display innovative approaches to problem-solving and analysis
Demonstrated ability to stay energized in a changing fast paced environment
US Citizenship or Certificate of Naturalization is required
Must be familiar with 5S, Lean Shipbuilding principles and modular pre-outfitting.
Willing to submit to a background check
Excellent people management skills with demonstrated effective decision making capabilities.
Change Agent. (ability to model, influence and accelerate necessary and / or meaningful changes to work processes with the facility to manage toward a desired end result.)
Able to provide proof of US Person Status
Demonstrated proficiency in CPI and SPI measures and knowledge of principles and standards of EVMS preferred.
Sound Knowledge of scheduling format and reports including manning
Good demonstrated knowledge of planning and monitoring.
