The Maintenance Technician II role supports plant manufacturing operations through preventive and reactive maintenance. The technician executes preventive‑maintenance schedules, repairs equipment to maintain maximum production rates, and manages a spare‑parts inventory. Candidates who are passionate about maintenance and sustainability are encouraged to apply.
Key duties include troubleshooting and repairing machines and their controls, ordering replacement parts, and ensuring timely completion of work orders in the CMMS. The technician also acts as the first responder to equipment issues, assists Daily Management initiatives, and contributes to continuous‑improvement projects that enhance production efficiency and safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair machines and controls (extruders, corrugators, extrusion die, DC/AC motors, drives, chillers, etc.)
- Maintain and build job skills through company training programs
- Contact, specify, and order replacement parts and control components from suppliers
- Complete PM and repair work orders promptly in the CMMS while ensuring compliance
- Act as first responder to machine problems; coordinate with Electrical Engineering when needed
- Support Daily Management directives and initiatives
- Develop and implement continuous improvement projects to boost production efficiency and safety
- Collaborate with production staff to ensure safe, reliable operation of plant equipment

Applicants must hold a high‑school or vocational diploma and meet physical requirements such as lifting 50 lb to a height of six feet and standing for eight continuous hours. Preferred qualifications include electrical, hydraulics, or pneumatic technician experience, basic PLC and drive training, at least two years of industrial maintenance experience, and knowledge of plastic processing.
- High School or Vocational Diploma (or equivalent)
- Able to lift 50 lb to a height of 6 ft and stand/mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
- Capable of physical labor in temperature extremes and full range of body motion
- Preferred: electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic technician level; basic PLC and drive training
- Minimum 2 years industrial maintenance, electrical systems and controls experience
- Preferred knowledge of plastic processing
- Proficient with electrical test equipment (voltmeter, ammeter, megger, etc.)
- Able to read electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings; knowledgeable of NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79 codes
- Experienced with lock‑out/tag‑out, arc‑flash safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of 3‑phase industrial wiring, power distribution, AC/DC drives, and PLC I/O networking
- Effective time management, task prioritization and leadership abilities
- Strong interpersonal communication with plant personnel, vendors and company resources
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and root cause analysis
