The Cleaner will maintain the cleanliness, hygiene and safety of the school’s buildings and surrounding grounds. This includes cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices, communal areas, and leisure‑centre facilities such as changing rooms and reception. Routine tasks cover hoovering, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, operating floor scrubbers and carpet cleaners, and restocking supplies.
Additional duties involve waste and recycling disposal, reporting hazards, following cleaning schedules, complying with health‑and‑safety and COSHH regulations, and carrying out deep‑cleaning during holidays. The role also requires secure key handling, support for infection‑control measures, setting up rooms for events, responding to urgent spills, and wearing appropriate PPE.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication, reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Desirable experience includes previous cleaning work. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and will undergo background, identity and security checks.
