The Quality Engineer‑Rotary Drills ensures timely and effective implementation of company policies, procedures, and activities that protect the quality of manufactured products. The role collaborates closely with department managers and supervisors to maintain product quality, resolve issues, improve productivity, and meet regulatory standards.
Core duties include integrating quality considerations into all operations, planning and conducting QA audits, analyzing audit data to identify root causes, reviewing customer and frontline feedback to drive solutions, implementing corrective actions, maintaining production‑related quality documentation, coordinating calibration of tooling and measurement equipment, and providing daily support to resolve quality concerns. The engineer also designs and delivers training for production associates to address recurring quality issues.
Candidates must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management or a related field (master’s preferred), and possess at least five years of quality engineering experience or five‑to‑ten years of supervisory experience in manufacturing. Proven experience managing quality systems, conducting internal audits, and a strong technical background in metalworking, fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly are required.
Desired competencies include a strong focus on safety and quality, logical problem‑solving, excellent written and verbal communication, high professionalism and integrity, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to read engineering drawings, multitasking across multiple projects, and championing ISO 9001 and lean Six Sigma methodologies. The role also requires a collaborative, cross‑functional team mindset and staying current with technology and best practices.
The position requires proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio) and experience using Lean ERP, QuickBase, Power BI, and Teamcenter software.
