As the Field Safety and Quality Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting front-line safety assurance activities and physical quality inspections on nbn workers and infrastructure. Your role will ensure compliance with all quality requirements taking necessary actions to rectify any non-compliance with nbn standards. Additionally, you will provide input and recommendations to enhance safe working practices and quality processes.
You will predominantly undertake both pre and post compliance activities covering the full range of field tasks across all our technologies which include: FTTP (Fibre to the Premise), FTTN (Fibre to the Node), FTTB (Fibre to the Building), FTTC (Fibre to the Curb), HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial), FW (Fixed Wireless) and SAT (Satellite).
You’re a strong communicator who can guide, mentor, and motivate team members while building solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You collaborate effectively with other safety and quality team members to maintain a consistent and aligned approach, and you’re adept at engaging with customers and community representatives to address any quality-related concerns.
Your ability to effectively engage with customers and stakeholders, especially when delivering technical or construction briefings, sets you apart. You’re confident in coaching and upskilling Delivery Partner (DP) crews and supervisors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Experience in aerial network construction is considered a significant asset, as is familiarity with NSW-specific legislation and operational practices.
If this sounds like the role for you, it’s likely you bring strong experience in a Civil or Telecommunications Field Operations environment, with a solid understanding of telecommunications construction and activation methodologies. You’re knowledgeable in copper and fibre technologies and their installation processes, and ideally have hands-on experience in field engineering—particularly troubleshooting during testing phases and resolving exchange-related issues.
