

Global technical consultancy for building systems—vertical transportation, logistics, enclosures, forensics, façade access
The consultant will generate new business by marketing Lerch Bates services through conferences, client events, site visits, and industry publications. They will participate in all phases of vertical transportation projects, including bids, design, construction administration, safety inspections, and modernization. Managing active projects to ensure client satisfaction, quality, timely delivery, billing, and reporting is also required, along with supporting other business lines as needed and adhering to on‑site PPE requirements.
Location: Maple Grove, MN. Salary range: $135,000‑$152,000 per year. The role is a Consultant in the Vertical Transportation department. We are looking for a dynamic, forward‑thinking professional with expertise in the elevator industry to provide expert solutions for our clients.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture and has 3–5 years of experience, preferably in the elevator industry. Expertise in elevators, escalators, moving walkways, high‑rise building design, and relevant ASME codes is expected, along with strong project management, communication, negotiation, and critical‑thinking skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD review tools, and project time‑recording systems is required; QEI/CEI certification is strongly preferred.
This role involves both office and field work, including construction sites, confined elevator pits, and occasional travel. Physical demands include frequent movement, climbing ladders, lifting up to 30 lbs, and working at heights, while mental demands focus on communication, problem‑solving, and multitasking under shifting deadlines.
