The position is part of the Ministry of Justice Facilities Management team, delivering essential services to secure prison estates across England and Wales. Amey supports His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, ensuring 60 secure premises operate safely, cleanly and efficiently.
The plumber will undertake both routine and non‑routine maintenance, repair mains water supplies, conduct fault finding and replace life‑expired equipment, and perform inspections, water sampling and risk assessments. Additional duties appropriate to the role may also be required.

Candidates must hold an NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating, have experience in plumbing maintenance and operating light plant, possess a full UK driving licence, and have worked in a commercial environment. Legionella awareness and compliance is desirable.
Applicants will need Prison Security Clearance, including a Standard DBS, which Amey will support. The company welcomes diverse candidates and encourages those who meet most, but not all, requirements to apply as training and development may be provided.
