The Environmental Principal will lead and mentor junior, mid‑level, and Associate Principals, support senior staff with staffing decisions, and oversee the full lifecycle of environmental assessment and remediation projects to ensure compliance with QA/QC policies and client expectations.

- Support collections efforts and review change orders and invoices for fiscal responsibility.
- Apply extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations to guide project decisions.
- Oversee environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, and remediation projects.
- Manage remediation system design, installation, and O&M, ensuring proper permitting and safety compliance.
- Supervise underground storage tank (UST) assessments, ensuring work by qualified, licensed professionals.
- Develop and review site work plans defining sampling locations, equipment, subcontractors, and safety requirements.
- Ensure deliverables align with approved scopes of work and justify any necessary deviations.
- Coordinate with other ECS service lines for multidisciplinary collaboration and regulatory compliance.
- Review project budgets and schedules, identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously, balancing technical leadership with strategic oversight.

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking an experienced Environmental Principal to join its Florida Environmental Team in Miami, FL. This senior leadership role ensures project quality, performance, and client satisfaction consistently meet ECS’s high standards, acting as a trusted technical advisor, final reviewer, and mentor while delegating effectively to senior staff.
Key qualifications include a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, or a related field (master's preferred), at least 12 years of relevant experience, and preferably a professional license such as PE, PG, or REM. The candidate must demonstrate deep expertise in environmental assessment, remediation, permitting, regulatory compliance, and possess strong client‑development and leadership abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
- Professional licensure (PE, PG, REM) preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in environmental assessment, remediation, and regulatory compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and test methods.
- Proven ability to develop and manage new client relationships.
