Description

The role involves independently appraising real estate properties for a variety of purposes, including dispute resolution, mortgage underwriting, acquisition and disposition, portfolio analysis, and estate matters.

• Prepare complete appraisal reports independently on complex properties, collaborating with senior staff and reviewing reports.
• Conduct full appraisals of commercial properties to determine market value.
• Make independent decisions and provide judgment in developing appraisals for complex properties.
• Inspect properties.
• Complete formal review responses, providing guidance when requested by senior staff.
• Participate directly in client meetings.
• Draft formal rebuttal letters.
• Maintain knowledge of current government regulations, zoning laws, and appraisal standards.

Requirements

• Understand and utilize all required software programs.
• Maintain familiarity with necessary data sources.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in real estate, economics, or finance; MS or MBA in real estate preferred.
• Possess a state‑appropriate Certified General Appraiser license.
• Have 3–6 years of professional experience as a commercial real estate appraiser.
• Skilled in writing appraisals and appraisal reviews for complex commercial properties.
• Solid understanding of property valuation concepts, commercial‑real‑estate terminology, and property‑tax jurisdiction processes.
• Proficient in Argus software.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and market participants.
• Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
