Preparing best practice notes and guidance and embed best practice
Work with other Head Office functions with regard to issues that cross between respective responsibilities, particularly Land and Planning and Technical
Support internal regional design reviews to improve the quality of our developments
Liaise with the external urban design community to represent TW and to bring learning back into TW
Develop strong relationships with the TW design community
Support the planning and delivery of the bi-annual Design Lead Conference and the annual Design Competition
Assist the Head of Urban Design to support Business units in the preparation of development designs with a focus on placemaking quality, planning policy compliance and delivery of TW business objectives. Focus on, but not limited to high profile and high risk projects
Liaise with external designers to ensure alignment with TW practice and policy
Working with the Head of Urban Design to implement new standard processes and practices within TW
Assist in the delivery of the internal Design Academy and the running of regional design workshops to improve knowledge and share best practice

Ability to communicate graphically both with free hand drawing and the appropriate design software.
Experience and understanding of the business and technical requirements of volume house building
Degree in Urban Design /Architecture or other appropriate qualification or membership of appropriate professional body.
Track record of working with or in design consultancy, preparing high quality designs
An understanding of current thinking and government policy in place making and its implications in planning and development
