Under the general direction of the Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the physical facility, including the building and grounds. This role involves preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure the property remains in good condition.
The position requires excellent communication skills and compassion for older adults, as well as basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, and general repair. Candidates should be motivated, self‑started, task‑oriented, comfortable with computers, and able to work well in a team.
The physical demands of the job include regularly standing, talking, bending, stretching, pulling, pushing, and lifting items. Employees must have adequate close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
