- Responsible for the observation of utility installations across railroad property.
- Escalate items of non-compliance to management/engineers for review.
- Attend both railroad (flagger) and contractor daily job briefings and discuss project requirements.
- Document work in accordance with approved plans.
- Submit daily inspection reports using a tablet that accurately depict work progress and adherence to the railroad utility agreement.
- Perform on-site observation of trenchless construction within railroad right-of-way, providing support for third-party activities on and around live railroad tracks.
- Responsible for documentation of pre- and post-construction site conditions, verification of materials and layout, observation and documentation of construction activities, and maintaining an active dialogue with on- and off-site personnel.
- Attend monthly training calls.

- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Proficiency with electronic communications including e-mail and text.
- Less than three years’ experience in rail or utilities.

- Travel 100% of the time.
- Basic understanding of tablet operation.
- Knowledge of general construction practices.
