The role involves performing basic design and calculations, preparing P&IDs, and specifying generator auxiliary systems. It also includes checking and releasing final manufacturing and arrangement drawings, along with the Bill of Materials received from product definition or suppliers.
Responsibilities include understanding project specifications, product requirements, customer needs, generator operating parameters, and hydro power plant operating sequences. The engineer will design and calculate auxiliary systems such as braking, lifting, thrust bearing oil injection, various exhausts, fire‑fighting, air‑water and oil‑water coolers, and their piping layouts. Additional duties involve preparing technical specifications and drawings, managing work packages with the product definition team, collaborating with suppliers for design improvements or cost reductions, and supporting the supply chain during execution.
Accountability is required to deliver quality work within budget and specified lead times, measured by on‑time delivery, quality, and cost of components and engineering hours.
Candidates must hold a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and have at least three years of experience designing hydro generator auxiliary systems, with total experience of more than five years. Required knowledge includes mechanical and electrical engineering, piping standards, heat exchangers, design specifications, and design and engineering processes. Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, PLM (Corella), and CAD tools such as AutoCAD and UG NX is expected, along with strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a proactive attitude.
