The UGE Operator installs underground conduit, cables, transformers, pull boxes, transformer pads, and switchgear, supporting the line team and collaborating with departmental personnel to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Operate jobsite equipment safely (cranes, bulldozers, excavators, trenchers, etc.).
- Perform service, safety checks, minor repairs, and monitor oil/fluid levels.
- Inspect work areas for staking/locating before digging and dig around live utilities.
- Load trucks safely and assist maintenance crew or act as laborer when not operating equipment.
- Train, guide, or oversee lower‑graded operators and laborers as needed.
- Follow the highest applicable safety standards and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve operations, reduce turnaround time, and enhance customer service.

The position requires extensive physical activity, including bending, squatting, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and working in extreme weather, with a need for clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and color identification.
- Minimum: high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year relevant experience, valid driver’s license.
- Preferred: 2+ years experience, OSHA 10 certification, CDL Class A license.
