The Safety Support Associate role on the Interim Housing team at our Silverlake location ensures a safe environment for staff, participants, and visitors. Working part‑time on weekends, you will monitor facilities, engage participants in safety practices, and support crisis response while assisting with security protocols and documentation.
- Assist with ensuring overall safety of the interim housing site using observation, de‑escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement.
- Coordinate with the onsite case management team to provide support to the interim housing site.
- Coordinate with contracted security agencies (if applicable) to ensure the safety of the interim housing site.
- Conduct regular rounds of the interim housing site and facility grounds and communicate and observe discrepancies or concerns.
- Assist the Associate Director with drafting written documentation and correspondence regarding site safety and security.
- Respond to interim housing security or crisis situations using non‑violent crisis intervention and verbal de‑escalation, collaborating with supervisors and case management.
- Assist with development of forms, procedures, and manuals for the Metro LA Interim Housing.
- Complete required reports as necessary or requested.
- Attend meetings and provide input and feedback related to safety and support operations.

- Employment eligibility verification and ability to perform all work in California.
- Successful completion of background screening (including possible LAX, Veterans Affairs, Sheriff, or other clearances) and drug test.
- Updated Tuberculosis test.
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available.

The position offers a salary of $21.71–$26.36 per hour, paid over 24 periods per year, with two weekend shift options (7:00 am–3:30 pm or 3:00 pm–11:30 pm).
