The Systems Manager (MEP) at Clark Construction will guide projects from initial design through close‑out, leveraging expertise in Low Voltage, Security, Fire Protection, Controls, and other critical MEP systems. This role ensures that clients receive reliable, high‑performance infrastructure that supports their industry needs. The position offers the chance to contribute to a legacy of delivering complex, large‑scale construction projects.
Key responsibilities include analyzing contract documents for constructability, code compliance, and functionality; leading MEP trade 3‑D coordination meetings and overseeing drawing submittal approvals; and directing on‑site MEP trade coordination and installation. The manager also handles material submittals, tracks procurement documentation, and develops the MEP schedule in partnership with the field supervision team. Additional duties involve reviewing field installations, managing testing and commissioning, and overseeing close‑out documentation while advising on requisitions and contract changes.
Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in mechanical, electrical, fire‑protection, construction management, or a related discipline, or possess eight or more years of relevant experience. Preferred candidates have 5‑8+ years managing MEP trades on large construction projects, proven leadership in diverse team environments, and a track record of mitigating change‑order risk. Desired certifications include OSHA 10, and proficiency with P6 and Procore platforms. Strong communication, detail orientation, and adaptability across project phases are essential.
The role is physically active, requiring frequent navigation of uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists, as well as lifting materials up to 25 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally. It also involves extensive visual work such as reading plans and inspecting installations, complemented by desk time for document review and meetings. The work environment spans active construction sites with variable weather, noise, and confined spaces, as well as typical office settings with moderate noise levels. Safety compliance with Clark Construction policies and applicable laws is mandatory at all locations.
Clark fosters a high‑performance culture that rewards challenge‑driven candidates who thrive under pressure and are willing to work extended hours during critical phases. Responsiveness to time‑sensitive issues—via phone, email, or text—is expected, especially for emergencies. The company promotes a drug‑free workplace with pre‑employment and random quarterly testing, and it values diversity, inclusion, and collaborative teamwork.
