Description

This role follows a hybrid work model, meaning associates regularly work from a Wipfli office, from home, and at client sites. Client locations may vary locally, regionally, or nationally based on industry alignment, and scheduled meetings at the client or office require in‑person attendance.

• Manage and coordinate tax compliance and advisory work for clients.
• Review federal and multi‑state partnership tax returns.
• Lead day‑to‑day client relationships and support partners in service execution.
• Consult on technical matters and special projects.
• Build client relationships and communicate effectively to provide superior service.
• Participate in business development with partners and marketing professionals.
• Manage, train, and develop staff; participate in performance reviews.
• Respond promptly and professionally to client and associate requests.
• Prepare client communications for engagement planning and requests.
• Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and projections as directed.
• Communicate open items to engagement leaders in a timely manner.
• Adhere to budgets and deadlines.
• Develop technical competency in Sub‑chapter K partnership taxation; use tax software for returns and research.
• Review tax‑related information such as provisions, depreciation schedules, and property tax returns.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary client service teams for account planning.
• Identify potential issues or opportunities in engagements and discuss with leaders.
• Conduct limited tax return interviews as needed.
• Provide technical assistance to clients.
• Serve as subject‑matter leader in accounting/tax services.

Requirements

• Attain industry‑specific expertise via CPE, events, webinars, etc.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
• CPA certification or progress toward it preferred.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing or mentoring staff.
• Experience making recommendations to management.
• Prior public accounting experience desired.
