  • Support local leadership in the development of project related subcontractor Bids and Tender documents and demonstration of good practice therein.
  • Actively monitor audit and incident SMART actions for timely closure.
  • Prepare project reports and statistics for internal and external reporting.
  • Leads development and implementation of HSE objectives and targets in line with project HSE Strategy.
  • Represents Project deliverables and associated arrangements to stakeholders.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of project specific deliverables in alignment with the Petrofac GMS and client expectations as per agreed scope of work (i.e. HSE Plans, procedures and guidance, campaigns and initiatives).
  • Influencing disparate personalities, including stakeholders and subcontractors, to agree common goals and liaison
  • To act as the source of expertise and interface with both client and regulators (where required).
  • Lead and coordinate Emergency Response arrangements.
  • Coaches, mentors others especially subcontractors and new hires via the onboarding in project systems / arrangements.
  • Identify common project initiatives / issues and develop common good practice approaches where possible.
  • Regular site visits, monitoring activities and processes, meeting staff and give briefings.
  • Capture solutions to add to explicit knowledge base
  • To act as the HSE Team Lead for Asset Solutions Australia, responsible for leading all Health, Safety and environmental matters, and to coordinate all Australia HSE team activities. To ensure the provision and application of the Petrofac GMS and supporting information to ensure project delivery.
  • Facilitate the risk management process to ensure hazards are controlled and actively managed.
  • Identify common performance issues and develops innovative solutions to address.
  • Analysing a variety of different inputs from statistical analysis, investigation findings and personal opinions to arrive at correct conclusions
  • Acts as HSE Team Lead for the Australia based HSE team, driving performance in terms of leading and lagging indicators, and tactical actions.
  • Actively involved in audits, reviews, active monitoring and incident investigations.
  • Co-ordinate and actively participates in project health, safety and environmental meetings.

  • Technical knowledge and experience in hazard identification, with detailed knowledge of HSE practices and procedures, Control of Work, emergency response, and delivery of safety programmes.
  • Engineering or Science degree preferred.
  • Broad understanding of human performance and human factors.
  • Trained incident investigator or demonstrable competence in the subject.
  • Trained auditor or demonstrable competence in the subject
  • Significant senior health & safety advisor experience essential.
  • Experience in operational role or HSE function in Oil and Gas or another high hazard industry, is essential (onshore and/or offshore).
  • Detailed knowledge of process safety.
  • Detailed knowledge of occupational and industrial health and safety.
