Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on production line machinery.
Ensure material and labels match the work order for production.

Perform or assist with equipment changeovers for product changes.
Trainees begin by observing and assisting experienced workers or sometimes in formal training programs. Under supervision, they may start as tenders, supplying materials, starting and stopping the machine, or removing finished products from it. Then they advance to the more difficult tasks performed by operators, such as adjusting feed speeds, changing tools, or inspecting a finished product for defects. Eventually, they develop the skills and experience to setup machines and assist newer operators.

Identify production line machinery problems and notify maintenance personnel.
Operate production line machinery striving to meet weekly quotas.
Must use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Clean and maintain work area.
Being present at work is required to operate the manufacturing equipment.
Maintain product knowledge and packaging types.
Responsible for quality assurance. Consult with proper personnel and make adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications. (For quality concerns, stop machine, call Team Lead or Supervisor).

Being able to read, write, and understand English preferred but not required.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Experience working with machinery also is helpful.

The complexity of the equipment largely determines the time required to become an operator. Most operators learn the basic machine operations and functions in a few weeks, but a year or more may be needed to become skilled operators or to advance to the more highly skilled job of setter.
Machinery operations require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and proper dress and safety shoes.
Exposed to extreme heat (non-weather).
Required to arrive for work on-time and at work station before the shift bell rings to start their shift to allow communication with the out-going shift operator.
The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance on a platform.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
