The role involves leading and mentoring engineers and designers, reviewing and approving tower structural analyses and modification drawings, generating engineering reports, and providing performance reporting to management. Collaboration with structural engineering managers, cross‑functional teams, and local markets is essential to meet production goals, resolve workflow issues, and ensure quality standards.
Supervisory duties include partnering with Talent Acquisition to recruit and hire diverse, high‑performing staff, overseeing onboarding, coaching, and career development, and fostering a culture aligned with SBA’s mission, vision, and values through regular performance feedback and goal setting.
- Lead, develop, and mentor engineering and design teams.
- Review and approve tower structural analyses and modification drawings.
- Generate engineering reports and provide actionable recommendations.
- Report team performance to management using prescribed formats.
- Collaborate with Structural Engineering Managers to achieve production goals.
- Guide cross‑functional teams on technical rules, workflow, and regulations.
- Support complex engineering assignments and ensure timely tower modifications.
- Assist in selecting and implementing new design and analysis tools.
- Stay current on technical advances in tower engineering and adapt them locally.
- Promote engineering service RFPs internationally and disseminate best practices.

- Coach staff, conduct performance feedback, and develop career growth plans.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred), have at least three years of experience in communication tower design and analysis, and be fluent in English and Spanish (Portuguese a plus). The position requires physical abilities such as lifting up to 15 lb, standing, walking, and sitting for most of the day, and is performed in an office/cubicle environment with moderate noise levels.
