The Machine Assembly Technician performs hands‑on daily machine assembly operations under limited supervision from the Repair Center Supervisor. The role requires reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering instructions and using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and electromechanical equipment.
Daily duties include disassembly, inspection, documentation, balancing, assembly, and testing of machines in the repair department, following shop procedures, drawings, engineering bulletins, and other documentation. The technician works from engineering drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions, interfaces with customers on repair reviews while protecting confidential information, and ensures quality by adhering to the Quality Plan, proper sign‑offs, and 5S procedures.
A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with trade knowledge equivalent to an apprenticeship program. Candidates typically have more than five years of machine assembly experience, and supervisory experience is a plus.
The role demands strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with precision measuring instruments, and the ability to read engineering drawings; machinist skills and experience with rotating equipment maintenance are advantageous. Physical requirements include standing, walking, or sitting for long periods, lifting at least 75 lb, and performing detailed visual inspections with fine motor control. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to protected characteristics.
