Principal DevOps

Description

• Guide incident response processes and lead post-mortem practices to improve system resilience.
• Mentor DevOps engineers and support their technical growth and career development.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to support evolving infrastructure needs.
• Design and evolve CI/CD pipelines that support scalable, secure, and efficient delivery.
• Optimize hybrid environments (cloud and on-premises) for performance, cost, and security.
• Implement and standardize monitoring, logging, and alerting practices across systems.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and IT to ensure reliable and seamless deployments.
• Establish and promote DevOps standards, tools, and automation across teams.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Ansible.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience mentoring DevOps Developers or leading internal learning initiatives.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python) and experience with version control (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with IT security best practices, compliance, or cost optimization in the cloud.
• Involvement in building or scaling platform engineering or DevOps communities of practice.
• Experience supporting high-availability systems or global software deployments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Effective communicator and collaborator with a strategic mindset and a proactive approach.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Additional Requirements: Employment is subject to successful completion of reference checks and a Canadian criminal background check.
• Ability to influence DevOps strategy and lead cultural and process improvements across teams.
• 10+ years of experience in software Development or DevOps, with at least 5 years in senior or leadership roles.

• Compensation: Annual base salary: $145,300 to $159,200 CAD, plus eligibility for a profit-sharing bonus. This salary range reflects our reasonable estimate for the role. Final compensation may vary based on your experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
