Leasing Consultant

Description

The Leasing Consultant serves as the primary sales and customer service representative for the apartment community, greeting prospective residents, identifying their housing needs, and professionally presenting the property’s features and benefits to secure lease agreements. The role also provides support with resident relations and administrative duties, helping to ensure smooth daily operations and high resident satisfaction, while contributing to occupancy goals and resident retention.

• Greet prospects, qualify needs, and guide tours of available apartments.
• Present community features, floor plans, amenities, and neighborhood offerings.
• Process applications and leasing documents according to company standards.
• Conduct market surveys and suggest marketing ideas to the Property Manager.
• Perform outreach marketing and participate in resident and community events.
• Provide outstanding customer service to current and prospective residents.
• Assist with resident communications, lease renewals, notices to vacate, and satisfaction efforts.
• Respond promptly to resident inquiries and service requests.
• Support community retention initiatives and foster an inclusive atmosphere.
• Accurately complete lease files, guest cards, application verifications, and follow‑ups.
• Collect rent payments (excluding cash) and issue receipts as needed.
• Maintain organized leasing files, daily traffic logs, and leasing reports.
• Log all resident and prospect interactions using proper procedures.
• Assist with property inspections, identify service needs, and report to the Property Manager.
• Support the Property Manager and Assistant Manager with daily administrative tasks and reporting.

Requirements

This is a part‑time, on‑site position requiring weekend and holiday availability for tours, events, and operational coverage. The role demands frequent walking, standing, and interaction with residents and prospects, as well as the ability to show apartments, climb stairs, bend, and lift light items. A valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation are required for work‑related travel.

• Minimum 1 year leasing or sales experience in multifamily housing preferred.
• Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing, ADA, and leasing compliance (or complete training within 90 days).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and property management systems (e.g., Yardi or OneSite) preferred.
• Availability to work weekends and occasional holidays.
