Senior Project Manager/Engineer - Transportation

Description

• Manage the delivery of civil engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality oversight
• Play a strategic role in growing Buchart Horn’s presence in key infrastructure markets
• Stay current on DOT regulations, design technologies, and civil engineering best practices
• Conduct and oversee QA/QC reviews, ensuring conformance with standards, codes, and specifications
• Conduct field reviews and resolve complex construction or coordination challenges
• Lead meaningful projects that contribute to regional growth and sustainability
• Represent Buchart Horn at professional events, client meetings, and industry conferences
• Develop work plans and monitor project progress to ensure alignment with client expectations and contractual obligations
• Guide internal staff and provide technical mentoring to junior engineers and designers
• Lead proposal development, participate in Go/No-Go decisions, and support pursuit strategies with the Business Development team
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and develop new contacts to expand business opportunities
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate technical efforts across project phases

Requirements

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, mentor staff, and work collaboratively across teams
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Project management experience with NJDOT projects strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Familiarity with NJDOT public outreach and environmental processes a plus
• Proficiency with civil design tools; MicroStation experience preferred
• Strong technical expertise in transportation design and infrastructure development
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
