  • Design electronic security systems, including electronic access control systems, intruder detection systems, CCTV, duress systems, intercom systems and relevant Network requirements.
  • Engage in business development and networking to grow the team and secure new projects, including participation in industry events, panels, and general networking.
  • Prepare user return briefs, design specifications, and design-level schematics using available templates.
  • Engage in research and development to continually enhance security documentation.
  • Perform detailed progress inspections and witness testing alongside the security contractor and client.
  • Facilitate client security meetings and workshops.
  • Participate in personal and professional development training as required.
  • Provide detailed drawing mark-ups for the drafting team, including elevation details
  • Develop design and engineering requirements for security installations of varying complexity.
  • Engage in the Performance Management Process and maintain individual assessment and development tools.
  • Participate in developing security sector offerings and engage with contractors and manufacturers on a technical level.
  • Collaborate across a dynamic Digital Building team, innovating within the built environment.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders, understand client problems, and identify desired outcomes.
  • Ensure that NDY’s Quality System is implemented and maintained on projects.
  • Conduct condition audits of existing buildings.
  • Coordinate proactively with the project design team and collaborate closely to document projects.
  • Manage project finances and track resourcing hours.
  • Assist with cyber security and security advisory services within the broader team.
  • Attend design meetings with clients, architects, and other discipline engineers.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations, conveying technical concepts to various audiences.
  • Develop security management systems and physical security elements, such as perimeter security, building protective measures, door hardware assessments, and vehicle access systems.
  • Implement Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, Security Risk Assessments, and security planning.

  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience writing specifications, technical reports, and producing quality technical presentations aligned to attendees' levels of understanding.
  • An understanding of cyber security compliance and concepts of user experience design.
  • Experience commissioning and validating the installation of security systems.
  • Proficiency with Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, conveying technical concepts clearly.
  • Site experience with security protocols, networks, communications.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification combined with equivalent training, accreditation, and experience would be beneficial.
  • Experienced in business development activities and a track record of winning work
  • Excellent ability to read and understand designs and schematics.
  • A minimum of five years' engineering experience in security/communications engineering.
