Commissioning Provider I

Description

The Commissioning Provider I leads a commissioning team to confirm that building systems are designed, installed, and operate according to the Owner's operational needs and the Engineer's design intent. The role requires frequent interaction with owners, contractors, engineers, and architects, and involves managing project schedules, budgets, and overall quality to ensure successful delivery.

• Manage multiple commissioning projects, overseeing client liaison, team coordination, schedule and budget.
• Review and revise Owner's Project Requirements, basis of design, and equipment submittals.
• Develop commissioning specifications, installation checklists, and functional performance tests.
• Conduct onsite functional performance tests, observe equipment startup, and produce reports.
• Lead commissioning meetings, coordinate activities, and maintain issue logs.
• Review O&M manuals, verify owner training, and write final commissioning reports.
• Supervise Commissioning Technicians and uphold company core values.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in HVAC, building systems, construction management or 3+ years relevant experience.
• 3+ years building commissioning experience; certification (ACG, BCxA, ASHRAE) required or within 6 months.
• Knowledge of building control systems and HVAC mechanical equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with cloud‑based commissioning software platforms.
• Detail‑oriented, multitasking, collaborative, and eager to continue learning.
• Working knowledge of HVAC mechanical design and building controls (preferred).
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities (preferred).
• 25–50% travel to job sites or office locations.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding; lift 20–100 lb; work in confined spaces, noisy or outdoor environments; operate power tools.
