- Perform mechanical design analysis and packaging of various closure components such as Hood, Fender, Side Door, Decklid, and Liftgate.
- Design parts and assemblies for vehicle programs through the entire product life cycle from concept to production to service/warranty/end-of-life.
- Assist cross-functional teams such as CAE by interpreting and using analysis results to guide and evolve the design.
- Work with manufacturing to ensure efficient process sequence and build quality.
- Ensure vehicles conform to all motor vehicle safety standards governing Closures system operation.
- Apply GDT, create drawings, packaging layouts, and design for manufacturability/assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Collaborate closely with the full design engineering team and other stakeholders to create world-class designs.
- Perform analysis of section properties, materials, and manufacturing processes through benchmarking activities.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Design, Product Development, Stamping, and Suppliers on tool design and secondary component changes.

- Experience using FEA tools within the CATIA environment.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks quickly in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in CAE.
- Proven design packaging and 3D modeling skills using CATIA V5/V6 or similar software.
- 8 years of experience in the field.
- Experience working with Class A surface data.
- Detail-oriented personality with a determined problem-solving attitude.
- Experience in automotive design, especially in closure systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred, not mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in CATIA/CAD.
