The Light Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of hand‑held and heavy machines such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, forklifts, graders and related tools on plant or construction job sites, while adhering to safety protocols.
Key duties include reading and interpreting load charts and hand signals, performing daily equipment inspections and minor maintenance, reporting malfunctions, loading, transporting and unloading materials and supplies, and providing assistance to other craft workers as needed.
The role requires physical strength to lift up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), operate vehicles and power tools, work in uneven or adverse conditions, and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds, as well as strong communication, decision‑making and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
