In this role you will develop and implement machining and reclaim processes for new EPDP programs and existing drivetrain components, handling quality planning, control plans, statistical process control, process monitoring, and product inspection. You will also create CNC machining programs, manage tooling and gauge procurement, conduct capacity and productivity studies, troubleshoot production issues, and design lean manufacturing cell layouts to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
The position is located onsite in Waterloo, Iowa, within the Factory Engineering function (CA) and carries the title Machining Manufacturing Engineer (SPO – 117646). Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Candidates need at least one year of experience as a manufacturing engineer working with turning, milling, and drilling of cast iron or steel, as well as machine programming experience. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, knowledge of CMM reporting, control plans, OMS, and the capability to read 3D models and part prints are required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with cast‑iron machining adjustments, AutoCAD/CAM, NC software such as Zoller, TDM, EdgeCAM, Creo, and Vericut, and leading cross‑functional project teams. Familiarity with robotic machining, GDT, Industry 4.0, drivetrain manufacturing strategies, SAP, and Microsoft software is also valued.
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred, though equivalent related work experience will be considered.
