Description

• Develop relationships with Indigenous communities and local governments.
• Collaborate with clients to design municipal infrastructure, including transportation, water, wastewater, storm systems, and asset management.
• Design water and wastewater systems such as treatment plants, pump stations, and collection/distribution networks, performing modeling and analysis.
• Produce utility design deliverables: equipment selection, layout, piping design, design briefs, reports, cost estimates, and contract documents.
• Design transportation projects such as roads, trails, and site grading.
• Act as the client’s on‑site representative during construction, conduct inspections, and verify compliance with design specifications.
• Prepare technical reports, plans, studies, proposals, and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Manage project scope, budgeting, and funding applications (e.g., Indigenous Services Canada).
• Conduct technical reviews of engineering drawings and design reports from internal teams and sub‑consultants.
• Build internal relationships to understand service offerings and foster a trust‑based culture.

Requirements

Our Peace Region Practice is seeking two enthusiastic Engineers‑In‑Training to join the Fort St. John branch. As an EIT you will work on a wide variety of engineering projects while contributing directly to the growth of our local team. We value curiosity, solutions‑focused thinking, and a community‑centric approach to complex problems.

We are looking for recent civil or environmental engineering graduates (up to three years experience) who are registered or intend to register with EGBC. The ideal candidate is passionate about serving local governments and Indigenous communities, enjoys building relationships, and thrives in a self‑directed, multitasking environment.

• Register (or intend to register) as an Engineer‑in‑Training with EGBC.
• Recent civil or environmental engineering graduate with up to three years of experience.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a self‑directed environment.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout the Peace Region.
