  • Developing and mentoring junior design team members .
  • Utilizing simulation software for system and process analysis.
  • Develop and manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Performing hydraulic calculations, pressure relief device calculations, and process hazard analyses.
  • Leading the Process Team in producing General Arrangement drawings and construction documentation.
  • Providing leadership and direction to designers and engineers.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in technical and professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and responsive service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Analyze data and implement solutions to enhance process efficiency.
  • Contribute to sustainability and environmental impact reduction efforts.
  • Design and optimize chemical processes and systems.
  • Supporting construction and field operations as needed, ensuring alignment with project designs.
  • Lead research and development initiatives to improve products and technologies.
  • Participating in project planning, design reviews, and problem-solving during all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Strong understanding of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in process engineering, with a focus on specialty chemical, films and fibers, nonwovens, or related manufacturing industries.
  • BS in Chemical with Engineering, active PE license, and 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s of Chemical Engineering (BSChE) required.
  • The Director of Process Engineering will be subject to jobsite conditions and therefore should be able to cope with and withstand these conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and lead project teams.
  • Ability to work directly with clients, technology and equipment providers, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Licensure: Active PE certification (SC preferred).
  • Proficiency with process simulation software and familiarity with hydraulic and pressure relief calculations.
  • Experience writing technical proposals for complex capital engineering projects .
  • Expertise in developing detailed process design documents including Process Flow Diagrams, General Arrangement drawings, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Ability to produce manhour estimates for project deliverables .
  • Excellent professional writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • This position requires the ability and willingness to travel overnight to client locations as required by project demands.
