Seven to ten (7-10) YOE progressively estimating and bidding structural steel and heavy plate construction projects.
Work directly with Sales and Pre-construction teams to understand size and scope of projects along with timelines and applicable project deadlines.
Prepare the takeoff of steel materials, estimate all necessary shop labor and field labor, buyout items, equipment cost, and sub-contractor work etc. to prepare a thorough estimate.
Collaborate with others on how we want to build the job through fabrication and erection.
Interact with other team members, internal departments and subcontractors professionally.
Adhere to and follow the Schuff Steel estimating guidelines and procedures.
Prepare detail oriented and accurate estimates on new projects as well as any change of orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines.
Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, schedules and other documentation presented by the client, to accurately prepare and estimate projects.

Thorough understanding of Structural steel and Architectural design drawings and details.
Proven experience as a construction or steel estimator, providing companies with accurate information that aids operations in achieving corporate goals.
Be comfortable to discuss alternative recommendations on projects in which management requires supplementary estimates to meet client needs.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of estimating software packages.
Great attention to detail, both written and verbal.
Comprehensive Steel construction terminology and concepts knowledge.
Degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering or Business from an accredited college or university may substitute for three (3) YOE.
The ideal candidate should be very comfortable with numbers and analytical thought.
