Principal Technical Professional - Piping Layout

Description

The Principal Technical Professional – Piping Layout is responsible for developing unit plot plans, equipment layouts, and conducting layout optimisation studies for various facilities such as WHP, process platforms, FPSOs, refineries, and LNG projects. The role supports the engineering team in delivering high‑quality, technology‑led solutions for complex projects.

Key duties include preparing material take‑off packages, reviewing vendor documentation, and generating special support drawings. The role also involves ISO checking, back‑drafting, and supporting the ISO team on project needs while guiding junior designers.

• Develop unit plot plans, equipment layouts, and optimise WHP, process platform, FPSO, refinery, and LNG layouts.
• Prepare Material Take‑Off (MTO) packages and review vendor documentation.
• Create special support drawings and perform ISO checking, back‑drafting, and ISO team support.
• Utilise E3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and MS Office for design and documentation.
• Mentor and guide junior designers while maintaining strong communication skills.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a diploma in Mechanical or Chemical engineering and have 15–20 years of experience with E3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and MS Office. Experience on fixed platforms or FPSOs, strong knowledge of mechanical handling, support selection, and conceptual layout studies are required, and familiarity with PML macro development is an added advantage.
