Utility Coordinator

Description

• Obtain utility contact and facility owner information.
• Evaluate and recommend solutions for prior rights claims.
• Review utility plans/records and collaborate with owners to resolve conflicts.
• Lead and facilitate internal and external utility coordination meetings.
• Coordinate with DOTs and local municipalities as needed.
• Ensure compliance with DOT utility certification requirements.
• Support UC project managers in client relationship development and travel as required.
• Perform additional duties and conduct field site visits for data collection and meetings.

Requirements

KCI Surveying and Mapping South is seeking a Utility Coordinator to support the growth of our Utility Coordination Practice in Georgia. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of GDOT utility coordination experience and familiarity with other state agencies or municipalities. This role involves reviewing plans for major highway projects, identifying impacts to existing utility infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with DOT requirements.

• Apply engineering, surveying, or Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) expertise (preferred).
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum two years of relevant utility coordination experience, preferably GDOT.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with drafting fundamentals (preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Photoshop and Google Earth a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pass pre‑employment drug screening and background check; motor vehicle checks may apply.
