The Account Manager is a key member of GFL’s Business Development team, responsible for strengthening client relationships and expanding market presence. The role focuses on driving new business from both prospective and existing clients, particularly within GFL’s Waste and Waste Processing Division. The position supports GFL’s reputation as an industry leader.
Core duties include proactively identifying and pursuing opportunities, assessing customer needs, and delivering tailored solutions from the company’s full service portfolio. The Account Manager represents GFL in a professional manner, serves as the primary liaison between clients and operations teams, and gathers market intelligence on competitor activity and pricing. Developing and executing strategic business plans to meet growth targets is also required, with approximately 70 % travel.
Candidates must have proven business development experience in a competitive, fast‑paced environment, and experience in waste management or industrial services is considered an asset. A strong drive for business excellence, meticulous follow‑through, and attention to detail are essential. A valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean record and reliable transportation are required, and familiarity with industrial shutdowns and turnarounds is advantageous.
