What you would be doing
Trains new SCA employees and contingent staff, as well as outside design consultants, on SCA standards and procedures.
Perform design review of work prepared by other engineers/architects.
Monitor the progress of the construction phase of the project.
Perform design review of work for engineering portions of multiple projects.
May coordinate the work of consulting firms and/or individual consultants and contingent staff on projects and does design review of outside consultants.
Work with a wide range of technical, professional, managerial and support personnel as well as outside consultants, contractors, vendors, and various government agencies.
Prepare field reports.
Perform review for either Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) or New Building Projects.
May act as a discipline leader in a department to train and develop internal staff in the architectural discipline.
Maintain and develops general understanding of architectural and engineering principles.
Conduct site observations.
Perform and/or supervises the preparation of scope, pre-schematic, schematic, preliminary and construction documents including reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Assists in preparing new design standards and procedures.
Works as a project leader on multiple, complex construction projects and major design and exploration programs to plan, assign, direct, manage, and supervise the work of stakeholders such as Engineers, Architects, Quality Assurance Specialists, Technical Inspectors, Associate Engineers, Associate Architects, and Architectural/Engineering Technicians, resolving any problems that occur.
May coordinate the work of consulting firms and/or individual consultants and contingent staff on projects.
May direct Associate Engineers/Architects and Architectural/Engineering Technicians, and/or Technical Inspectors working on several less complex design and construction projects, such as new schools, modernizations, additions, leased space, and Capital Improvement Projects (CIP).
Engineer - C is responsible for performing work in a variety of assignments and technical roles, as needed, and manages team members and/or contractors on projects to achieve the objectives of the Authority.

Work on several more complex design projects such as large primary schools, small intermediate schools, special types of buildings (e.g., special education schools), full modernizations, large additions, and specialized and/or numerous CIP projects.
Supervise the review of contractor’s submittals.
Ensures compliance to codes, standards, and that the project is completed on schedule.
May chair or participate in department seminars and workshops.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
May function as a project leader reporting to an Engineer/Architect B or Engineer/Architect C, Managing Architect, Managing Engineer, or Director to plan and coordinate work with other Engineers and Architects.
