The Operations Supervisor – Landfill leads a team of Lead Operators, Operators and General Laborers to ensure efficient landfill operations. They oversee fill sequencing, meet density goals, and maintain compliance with permits. The role collaborates with the Operations Manager and General Manager to drive functional excellence and achieve budget targets while upholding safety, environmental, regulatory, accounting, and ethical standards.
The supervisor provides safety leadership, removes unsafe conditions, and partners with maintenance to keep equipment compliant. They oversee accident-prevention programs, implement loss-control measures, and foster a culture of safety through active employee engagement.
They deliver service that meets or exceeds customer expectations, handling unusual requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes with clear communication. By interacting directly with customers, they resolve issues and enhance overall satisfaction, acting as a positive company representative.
Productivity goals are set and monitored, ensuring adherence to operating standards while managing labor hours and disposal costs. The supervisor executes operational plans to support division budget goals and collaborates with maintenance to maintain fleet quality.
