Key duties include conducting vulnerability assessments, performing continuous monitoring, and providing risk analysis for DoD environments. The analyst also supports system accreditation and certification processes, coordinating closely with owners to produce required documentation and agreements. Additional tasks may be assigned to meet evolving organizational needs.
- Propose, coordinate, implement, and enforce information system security policies, standards, and methodologies.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments using ACAS, DISA STIGs, and SCAP Compliance Checker with automated benchmarks.
- Configure security settings for operating systems and network devices according to DISA‑approved STIGs.
- Perform continuous monitoring, security audits, risk analysis, and develop mitigation strategies for DoD information systems.
- Identify NIAP‑certified technologies and DISA Approved Products List (APL) solutions.
- Prepare certification letters and Memoranda of Agreement with system owners for interface and networking implementations.

Candidates must hold a BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent experience as an ISSO. An active Secret clearance, at least three years of cybersecurity experience, and familiarity with the Risk Management Framework are required. Strong analytical abilities, meticulous record‑keeping, a valid driver’s license, and the willingness to work in varied weather and respond to emergencies are essential.
- Hold a BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field (or 3 years ISSO experience in lieu of degree).
- Maintain an active Secret clearance and at least three years of relevant cybersecurity experience, including RMF authorizations.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, detail‑oriented record‑keeping abilities, a valid driver’s license, and readiness to work in varied weather and respond to emergencies.
