About the Role

The Quality Inspector (3rd Shift) reports to the Factory Quality Supervisor and is part of Otis’s Quality department at the Florence, SC plant. The role is based at 1500 Otis Way and involves working across various factory areas to audit quality standards and perform periodic product inspections for conformance to drawing specifications. When non‑conformances are discovered, the inspector assists the factory in containment efforts and regularly utilizes inspection tools, software, and equipment to maintain quality. • Perform process audits in production cells, warehouse, and distribution center to ensure compliance with standard work, safety, and quality procedures. • Record non‑conformances in the audit database and relay details to Quality Engineers for root‑cause analysis. • Inspect parts against drawings, identifying and communicating defects or non‑conformances. • Conduct process and equipment validation, including wire crimp pull testing and torque validation.

What You Bring

Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 35 lb, stand for up to ten hours, and perform a range of movements such as walking, climbing, bending, and reaching. Employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and be able to concentrate, take initiative, and manage stress while maintaining quality of their own work. • 2–4 years manufacturing experience using inspection gauges (preferred). • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred. • Proficient with email, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer applications. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of interacting with senior management and shop floor personnel. • Quick learner of technical information with the ability to apply it to problem solving. • Autonomous in task management.
