About the Role

Safety is the top priority at Nucor; candidates must be able to lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The role involves general labor duties in a fast‑paced, non‑stop environment, supporting daily yard operations while maintaining a safe work area. • Follow company and OSHA safety procedures. • Attend safety meetings and participate in safety programs. • Perform general labor tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, and cleaning equipment and yard areas. • Keep grounds clear of debris while maintaining safety standards. • Assist the kiosk operator with weighing, sorting, and moving material. • Operate small equipment, including forklifts, with potential to operate larger industrial equipment. • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report defects or repair needs. • Prepare autos for processing by removing designated parts and fluids. • Inspect incoming scrap or cars, advise customers on acceptable materials, and apply deductions as needed. • Cross‑train in other positions and assist coworkers as required. • Provide excellent customer service in a fast‑paced environment. • Maintain the ability to stand or walk for up to 12 hours per day. • Meet attendance expectations with dependability and consistency.

What You Bring

Applicants should have at least one year of general labor experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably in scrap metal or construction, and be able to follow written and oral instructions, stand or walk up to 12 hours daily, adapt to shifting priorities, and maintain reliable attendance.
