About the Role

The Shipping Supervisor leads all shipping, receiving, trim‑parts production, and yard operations, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient flow of materials and finished goods. This role coordinates inbound and outbound truck shipments—including imports, exports, carrier scheduling, and customer deliveries—while guaranteeing trim parts meet specifications and production schedules. Safety is the top priority at Nucor, and the supervisor must initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. The position also champions Nucor’s culture by fostering ownership, continuous improvement, team development, and technical skill expansion. • Lead shipping, receiving, trim‑parts production, and yard operations. • Coordinate all truck shipments, including imports, exports, carrier scheduling, and customer deliveries. • Ensure trim parts are produced to specification and ready for production and customer requirements. • Champion safety policies, practices, and housekeeping standards across the facility. • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and team development. • Serve as a resource for employee coaching, technical knowledge expansion, and talent building. • Drive process improvements and best‑practice identification to achieve results. • Coach and develop others through mentoring and training. • Make sound judgments by weighing costs and benefits. • Apply business acumen to reduce costs and improve efficiency. • Organize, plan, and prioritize work for self and team.

What You Bring

• 3–5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. • 3–5 years of shipping experience, managing both import and export truck shipments. • Strong understanding of ERP systems and shipping workflows; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred. • Demonstrated knowledge of safe material‑handling practices and shipping/receiving processes. • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused industrial setting with competing priorities. • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field. • Experience in steel, construction products, or heavy industrial manufacturing. • Familiarity with lean practices, 5S, continuous improvement, and standard work. • Experience managing carrier relationships, export documentation, and compliance requirements. • Communicate ideas clearly and listen effectively. • Exhibit leadership presence and courage to address critical issues.

Benefits
