Perform welding and rigging tasks on steel joists and decking
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Perform fit‑up and tacking operations on structural assemblies safely. • Interpret weld symbols and follow welding procedures. • Add stiffeners, brackets, and face plates using shop orders before final welding. • Execute production GMAW welding on plates, bars, and channels per shop orders or verbal instructions. • Set welding machine parameters to achieve uniform bead and proper penetration. • Use cutting torch as required and clean welds with a chipping hammer or grinder. • Operate overhead crane within its rated capacity to lift materials. • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment. • Follow all supervisor instructions while adhering to safety standards.

What You Bring
The company is seeking motivated riggers and welders to join its Leduc team, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and a willingness to train the right candidates, with CWB GMAW Tacking/Flat Fillet certification and related experience considered an asset. • High school diploma with basic math and tape‑measure proficiency. • CWB GMAW (MIG) certification preferred; tacking/flat fillet certification considered an asset. • Prior experience in the steel industry is an advantage.
