About the Role
The incumbent will conduct comprehensive safety checks before work begins, clean and lubricate critical components such as the overspeed governor and safety action mechanism, and verify static balancing of units under senior guidance. Additional duties include installing door skates, testing electrical functions, adjusting acceleration and ride quality to Otis standards, and preparing detailed inspection and safety reports. • Conduct safety checks before initiating work at client sites. • Clean, lubricate, and test the overspeed governor. • Verify static balancing of units, correct counterweight balance, and adjust final limits under senior guidance. • Lubricate and test the Safety Action Mechanism according to procedures. • Install door skates, set door locks, and ensure all bolts and fasteners are properly tightened. • Perform unit safety checks by traveling the car top through the shaft to detect interference. • Test all electrical operations, including car doors, buttons, and intercom. • Escalate concerns to the Supervisor and complete NCRs for process infractions and safety issues. • Set contact parameters in the controller and place the lift in normal operation. • Adjust acceleration, deceleration, and ride quality to Otis recommended standards. • Inspect motor pits and escalator steps for debris and clean as required by safety guidelines. • Test escalators by removing comb plates, winding the motor for a full travel cycle, and checking for obstructions. • Prepare installation inspection reports, field test data reports, safety check reports, and Otis safety audits.
