About the Role

The EHS Coordinator works closely with teammates, contractors, and leadership to continuously improve safety culture, performance, and systems. The role provides support and resources to operations and maintenance for safety and environmental improvements. It involves conducting and supporting safety and environmental audits, inspections, and investigations. A strong floor presence is maintained to build relationships and understand day‑to‑day operations while interpreting and applying OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, and other standards. Additional responsibilities include building safety processes and training, managing workers’ compensation claims, and interacting with regulatory agencies. • Provide support and resources for safety and environmental improvements in operations and maintenance. • Conduct and support safety and environmental audits, inspections, and investigations. • Maintain a strong floor presence to build relationships and understand operational processes. • Interpret and apply OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, and other regulatory standards. • Develop and facilitate safety processes, management systems, and training programs. • Manage workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with regulatory agencies.

What You Bring

Safety is the top priority at Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Employees are expected to model best practices and foster a culture of continuous safety improvement. Minimum qualifications include at least three years of safety‑related experience in an industrial setting, knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and recordkeeping, willingness to work flexible hours and be on call 24/7 for emergencies, ability to travel several times per year for safety meetings and audits, and a supervisor or manager recommendation. Preferred qualifications are experience with ISO 14001/45001 and a bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Engineering. • Minimum of 3 years’ industrial safety experience and knowledge of OSHA/EPA recordkeeping. • Ability to work flexible hours, be on call 24/7 for emergencies, and travel for safety meetings. • Preferred: ISO 14001/45001 experience and a BS in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Engineering.
